Inline Content Tools

When editing content entries, AI tools are available directly in text, long text, and rich text fields. These tools let you generate, rewrite, translate, and improve content without leaving the editor.

Accessing the Tools

Text and Long Text Fields

Click the sparkle icon next to any text or long text field to open the AI tools dropdown menu.

Rich Text Fields

In the rich text editor, AI tools are available in two places:

• Toolbar: A sparkle button in the editor toolbar opens a prompt input for generating content
• Selection toolbar: Select any text in the editor, and a floating toolbar appears with AI actions

Available Tools

Generate

Write new content from a prompt. Click Generate... to open a text input where you describe what you want. The AI will write content and insert it into the field.

Examples:

• "Write an introduction paragraph about sustainable energy"
• "A product description for a wireless keyboard"
• "Three bullet points about the benefits of remote work"

The generate tool uses context from other fields in the form. For example, if you have already filled in a title, the AI will consider it when generating content for other fields.

Improve

Rewrite the current field content in a specific tone. Hover over Improve to see the available tones:

• Professional: Polished business language
• Casual: Relaxed, conversational style
• Friendly: Warm and approachable
• Formal: Academic or official tone
• Concise: Shortened, to the point

The Improve option is disabled when the field is empty.

Custom Rewrite

Click Rewrite as... to enter a custom instruction for how the text should be rewritten. This gives you full control over the rewrite direction.

Examples:

• "Make it more persuasive"
• "Simplify for a younger audience"
• "Add more technical detail"

Expand

Takes the current text and adds more detail, depth, and elaboration while keeping the same tone and style. Useful for turning brief notes into full paragraphs.

Summarize

Condenses the current text to its key points. Useful for creating excerpts or meta descriptions from longer content.

Fix Grammar

Corrects spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors without changing the meaning or style of the text.

Translate

Translates the field content to another locale. Hover over Translate to see the available locales configured for your project. This translates only the current field, not the entire entry (for full entry translation, see AI Translation).

The Translate option is disabled when the field is empty.

Streaming

All AI tools stream their output in real-time. You will see the text appear progressively as the AI generates it, rather than waiting for the full response.

Undo

After any AI action on a text or long text field, an undo button appears next to the sparkle icon. Click it to revert to the previous content before the AI change.

For rich text fields, use the editor's built-in undo (Ctrl/Cmd+Z).

Field Context

The AI tools are context-aware. When generating or rewriting content, the AI considers:

• The field name and label (e.g., it knows the field is "Meta Description")
• The collection name (e.g., it knows this is a "Blog Posts" collection)
• Other field values in the form (e.g., the title, excerpt, or any other filled-in fields)

This context helps the AI produce more relevant and consistent content.

Usage Tracking

Token usage from inline AI tools is tracked per session and displayed in the right sidebar of the content form. It shows:

• Number of AI requests made
• Total tokens used (with a breakdown of prompt and completion tokens)

This counter resets when you navigate away from the form.
